Cardi B recently showcased her determination and commitment to her fans and craft as she pushed through an illness to deliver a super lit performance on New Years Eve.

Prior to her appearance in Miami, Florida, the superstar took to her Instagram story to reveal that she was “fighting” for her life. In an update message to her 169 million followers, Cardi expressed her frustration at falling ill despite feeling perfectly fine in New York. She humorously attributed her sudden illness to being “allergic to Florida,” as she experienced a cough and tightness in her chest upon landing in Miami for the show.

Undeterred by her health struggles, Cardi emphasized the significance of her upcoming performance, describing it as “huge.”

“My chest started getting tight,” she said in the Instagram clip. “Bro, I’ve been fighting for three days and I have a huge performance later. Huge performance. Like, alright, I get that it’s New Year’s but I have this huge performance and I’m fighting, fighting.”

She acknowledged the festive nature of New Year’s Eve but made it clear that she was determined to give her all on stage, despite the physical challenges she was facing. Of course, despite her illness, Cardi B radiated confidence and glamour as she prepared for her performance.

She shared a video of her stylist perfecting her hair while she donned a black cut-out gown adorned with diamond earrings and a matching necklace. Like always, she came and delivered – a testament to her professionalism and dedication to her craft.

Cardi B’s participation in the renowned Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve special, hosted by Ryan Seacrest, was highly anticipated. Alongside her, LL Cool J also graced the stage, performing alongside DJ Z-Trip in New York. The star-studded event featured a diverse lineup of artists, including Post Malone in Las Vegas, NewJeans in South Korea, Ivy Queen in Puerto Rico, and many more.

This big show follows the recent news that Cardi split from husband, Offset after five years of marriage. As we previously reported, the rap star revealed at the beginning of December that she and Offset, 32, had gone their separate ways.

“I just don’t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today has been a sign,” she said at the timr. “The last time I got on Live I kind of wanted to tell you guys, but I didn’t know how to tell you, so I changed my mind. But it has been like this for a minute now. I’ve been single for a minute now, but I have been afraid to like… not afraid… I just don’t know how to tell the world,” said the Grammy-award winning rapper in the live video.

She concluded, “I wanna start 2024, like, fresh, open,” she continued in the Live. “I don’t know. I’m curious for a new life, for a new beginning. And yeah, I’m excited.”

However, Cardi and Offset who quietly tied the knot in 2017, and share two children together — daughter Kulture Kiari, 5, and son Wave Set, 2. — reportedly reunited at LIV Miami following her show.
