Megan Thee Stallion slams Drake over Tory Lanez shooting song

Unless you’re living under a rock, you might have heard about Drake’s new album with multiple number one records. It’s guaranteed that the rapper’s brand new project will rise to the top of the charts. However, not everything might be as good as it seems. With multiple controversies behind his back, Drake might be in a lot of trouble, thanks to problematic bars on his song.

But first, let’s hear a little about the rapper’s brand new project. Drake and 21 Savage announced their joint project on October 22nd. The duo, long-time pals in the industry, released their new album “Her Loss” this Friday.

The 16-track release features an appearance from Travis Scott on a song called [__] and millions. A cut called “Circo Loco” features a sample and vocal interpolation of Daft Punk’s Discovery hit “One More Time.”

After the release of “Her Loss,” a collaboration album with 21 Savage, Drake raised eyebrows with bars that seemingly referenced Megan Thee Stallion and her alleged assault by Canadian rapper Tory Lanez on August 20th, 2020. Megan claimed that Tory Lanez was the gunman who shot her in the foot following a pool party at Kylie Jenner’s house.

Megan alleged that Lanez tried to bribe her to keep quiet because he was on probation. Lanez faced felony assault and gun charges, and if convicted, he could get up to 22 years in eight months in state prison. Despite these legal problems, Drake’s lyrics in “Circo Loco” seemed to mock Megan’s shooting, implying she made it up for sympathy and fame.

Megan responded on Twitter, asking people to stop using her shooting for clout. She criticized the industry for not holding Drake accountable for insensitive lyrics, especially when they severed ties with Kanye West for his comments. Megan expressed frustration and vowed to bring the situation to light, but as of now, Drake hasn’t addressed the issue.

The controversy continues as Reddit detectives pointed out another lyric in “Circo Loco” that seemingly disses Megan’s graduation. Despite Drake’s silence, it’s likely that Megan will respond on Twitter. The question remains: Did Drake cross the line, or were these innocent bars?
