It is a city famed for its annual carnival, and Lady Gaga certainly seems to be in the party spirit during her stint in Rio de Janeiro.

The singer showed off her love of the Brazilian city on Thursday – as well as displaying newly dyed pink locks.

Dressed in just a soccer T-shirt in the Brazilian colours of yellow and green, Gaga stepped onto the balcony of her hotel.

She was armed with a huge banner that read ‘I heart Rio’ which she hung from the glass balcony as she greeted her fans.

Her bright pearl pink locks hung down as she waved and blew kisses at her admirers below.

The 26-year-old also pumped the air and displayed the Brazil soccer logo on her top, which she was wearing as a dress.

At one point she was seen pulling at the bottom of the T-shirt to ensure she was protecting her modesty.

The star has been far less self-conscious in recent days, once stepping out onto the balcony topless.

She had just a coconut to cover her breasts, and another time she was seen emerging in her bikini.

Party time: Gaga embraced the spirit of the city and looked ready for a carnival

Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, is often praised for doting on her many fans and it was no different on Thursday.

Concerned with the welfare of those waiting below her hotel balcony – particularly overnight – the star decided to take action.

She ordered pizza to be delivered to the throng of fans and informed them about it via her Twitter page.

Charitable: Later on in the day the star visited the neighbourhood of Cantagalo to learn about how social programs are benefitting children

 

Gaga wrote: ‘my lil Rio Babies PIZZA is coming downstairs. I feel like i slept in bed w you last night. every time i woke up i could hear you screaming!’

The star also showed her charitable side later in the day when she visited children in the neighbourhood of Cantagalo to learn about programs being run for their benefit.

The You and I singer is currently in Rio as part of her Born This Way Ball world tour.
