Shaquille O’Neal has criticized Kanye West after the rapper targeted the basketball legend’s friend and Authentic Brands Group’s (ABG) billionaire owner, Jamie Salter, on social media.

Both O’Neal and West were present at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, where the four-time NBA champion implied that the rapper ignored him at Allegiant Stadium.

The two have previously clashed when West appeared to question O’Neal and Salter’s business partnership. ABG holds the rights to O’Neal’s name, and the TNT analyst owns a significant stake in the company.

However, West took to social media to question the ownership structure, specifically asking about the ‘extra one per cent for control and voting rights’ in their deal.

O’Neal responded by advising the controversial artist to focus on his own business, quoting West’s own lyrics, “I got more money than you, so why would I listen to you.”

West returned to social media to claim that Salter had cut off communication with him in recent months. However, O’Neal swiftly defended his business partner, suggesting that West had the opportunity to speak to him in person at the Super Bowl but chose not to.

Their exchange turned heated, with O’Neal urging West to “man up” and stop complaining, before later deleting the post.

This confrontation isn’t the first between O’Neal and West, as they previously clashed over Kyrie Irving’s controversial promotion of a film containing anti-Semitic content.

Interestingly, both men had contrasting interactions with Taylor Swift on Sunday. According to former NFL star Brandon Marshall, Swift reportedly had West removed from the Super Bowl after he attempted to upstage her by intentionally buying seats in front of hers at Allegiant Stadium.
