Jason Momoa reveals how he took matters into his own hands to secure a customized motorcycle from Harley-Davidson for his new Fast X villain, Dante.

Fast X star Jason Momoa details how he took it upon himself to get his villain Dante a custom Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Serving as the tenth installment in the long-running Fast & Furious franchise, Fast X will see Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto and his crew of drivers facing off against Dante.

The first trailers for the film have already revealed that Dante has a connection to the events of Fast Five and will serve as the most deranged and flamboyant franchise villain yet.

Ahead of the Fast X release date next month, Momoa reveals in an interview with Total Film (via SyFy) how he went about securing a custom motorcycle for his villain, Dante. It turns out, for Momoa, it was as easy as picking up the phone and directly calling the Harley-Davidson CEO. Check out the actor’s recollection of events below:

“The first thing I asked was, ‘What bike do I get to ride? Generally, it’s a Bugatti or a Triumph or some kind of smaller performance bike for doing tricks on. I was like, ‘Hell no. I want to ride a Harley!’ I called Harley instantly, called the CEO, and was like, ‘Bro, can you help me?’ So they sent up like six bikes. I totally got hooked up. They let me build it for my character.”

Why Jason Momoa’s Villain Is Good News For Fast X

In addition to boasting a unique ride compared to villains of the past, Dante is already shaping up to be one of the strongest antagonists in what is being billed as the penultimate installment in the Fast & Furious franchise.

Notably, Dante has a strong connection to 2011’s Fast Five, a movie widely seen as the best in the series. The Fast X trailer reveals that Dante is the son of Hernan Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida), a Rio de Janeiro crime lord who Dom and Brian (Paul Walker) kill during the Fast Five climax.

This Fast Five connection means that Dante, who is seeking revenge for the death of his father, has a strong motive in Fast X. His powerful motives seem to be combined with a more general bloodlust and desire for chaos. Just how unhinged Momoa’s villain really is in the upcoming film is made clear by one moment in the Fast X trailer when Dante licks the blood of one of his enemies off of a knife.

What makes Dante even more dangerous is the fact that he seems to have little regard for his own life. In a more recent Fast X trailer focusing on Dante, Momoa’s character says during a tense showdown,

“Let’s all start shooting each other,” speaking to just how unpredictable and violence-prone he is. It remains to be seen how Dante will factor into Fast X, but, at the very least, he’ll be sporting a one-of-a-kind Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
