Philadelphia Eagles rookie Jalen Carter was accused of flopping in a recent NFL fixture against the Miami Dolphins. The defensive tackle dramatically fell to the floor after minimal contact from his opponent and was able to sell the referee as well. The opposing player was flagged, with Carter later claiming that he was inspired by LeBron James to dramatically fall on the floor. The clip was shared by Dov Kleiman on Twitter.
Carter claimed that he was thinking about “what would James do” in the situation, and decided to follow his example. The 38-year-old LeBron James is one of the greatest players to play in the NBA. However, he is also said to be a bit of a flopper. While not positive, James appears to be inspiring younger athletes from across sports,
“I was just thinking about LeBron! I was like ‘oh, what would LeBron [James] do!”
The commentators seemed immediately aware of the fact that Carter had attempted to sell the referee. He succeeded, as the Eagles ended up 31-17 winners on a comfortable night. Carter later claimed that he took inspiration from none other than LeBron James, who has over the years developed a bit of a reputation for being a flopper.
LeBron was most recently seen flopping in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals against the Denver Nuggets. With his team in a difficult position, he managed to sell the referee on contact from the Joker.
However, James’ malicious joy was short-lived. Nikola Jokic soon responded with a flop of his own in the same game and managed to carve out a 3-point play on his own accord.
LeBron James was accused of flopping in Game 2 of WCF
Against the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals, James’ team was handed an awakening by Nikola Jokic and company. The Lakers had managed a stellar comeback to make the Playoffs initially and won two Playoff series on their way to the Conference Finals.
Despite losing 4-0, the matches were closely contested and it was a lack of quality in depth that cost the Lakers. Regardless, LeBron was seen trying to sell the referee in a similar fashion as Carter.
James fell to the floor after minimal contact from Nikola Jokic, and his expressions painted a dramatic picture. Both Murray and Jokic were left surprised. However, the Joker soon responded with a flop of his own.
With less than 10 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter, Jokic went down after minimal contact from LeBron, who was left smiling in the aftermath. The 38-year-old seemed well aware of what Jokic had pulled off and could do nothing but respond to how others had responded to his own act, minutes ago.
