Jennifer Lawrence Is Embarrassed About Starring In The Hunger Games
Jennifer Lawrence in Hunger Games
The Hunger Games became a $2.9 billion franchise, and Jennifer Lawrence went on to achieve global stardom overnight. Thanks to the billion-dollar franchise, she went on to portray some very popular roles and made a name as an established acting genius in Hollywood.
But dealing with fame is not easy and especially for a young actress. The Red Sparrow actress has, as a result, expressed how she regrets starring in The Hunger Games, and that dealing with fame early on in her career was one of the hardest things she ever did.
“I am a troll. I hate myself. I think the movie is great, but their biggest mistake was [casting] me. Out of the four premieres, I’ve tripped in two or three of them. Like, massive trips. It’s so scary and then I end up getting so nervous that I get really hyper. So then I go do interviews and I’m like, ‘I’m like a Chihuahua. I’m shaking. I’m peeing!’ And then afterwards I’m like, ‘I just talked about peeing on the red carpet!’”
Despite all this, The Hunger Games remains the most iconic franchise starring Jennifer Lawrence, largely because of how well Lawrence portrayed Katniss Everdeen.
Jennifer Lawrence Did Not Want To Do The Franchise Because Of Twilight
Lawrence was afraid after witnessing Kristen Stewart’s fame after Twilight
Lawrence was afraid of starring in her $2.9 billion franchise after having witnessed Kristen Stewart’s fame after starring in the Twilight franchise. Watching Twilight made her realize how big of a deal Hunger Games was and how it would change her life.
“I almost didn’t do Hunger Games because Twilight had come out and that fandom had happened. When I was trying to talk to people about making this decision after Hunger Games got offered to me, it was hard to explain to people this level of fame.”
Nervous and contemplating, Lawrence still decided to go ahead with the movie and now she is a global icon thanks to the fame and love the franchise brought her.
