Nadia Nakai to honour AKA in new single

Zimbabwean-South African rapper, Nadia Nakai announced the release date for her tribute to her lover AKA also known as Kiernan Jarryd Forbes.

Nadia Nakai who was AKA’s lover before he was brutally shot in February 2023, previewed the tribute single via her Instagram. She titled it Never leave and it is set to release on January 26, 2023. She posted the brief snippet of the emotionally charged song, captioning it with a poignant message: “I Miss You. Happy Heavenly Birthday (28 January 2024)” AKA’s birthday, January 28, 2024 is to be 2 days after the release of the tribute song.

Kiernan Jarryd Forbes (28 January 1988 – 10 February 2023), known professionally as AKA, was a South African rapper, record producer, and businessman. He was a peak rapper in South Africa and had won numerous awards including Best Male Artist for his album Mass Country, Best Engineered Album Mass Country and Best Collaboration for Lemons (Lemonade) featuring Nasty C at the 29th South African Music Awards in 2023 alone.
