ill Smith has declared that he’s made a plethora of mistakes in his life and career, notably in his marriage to Jada Pinkett Smith and when he struck Chris Rock on stage at the Academy Awards as he declared “I am deeply human”.

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air actor is one of Hollywood’s biggest names and stars, but in recent times he has come to be associated with controversy instead of movies, either at his own hand or by the hand of his family.

A more liberated Smith made the revelations after his wife said that they’ve lived separately since 2016, and after she released a memoir titled “Worthy” that dropped on October 17, 2023.

“I have made tons of mistakes,” Smith said at the Red Sea International Film Festival. “Fame is a unique monster.

“You can’t get too excited when people say good things about you because then when people say bad things about you, you struggle and suffer more.

I have to be clear about who I am and what I am attempting to do in the world.

“And at the same time, I am deeply human. And I am in the process of perfecting my virtue.”

One of his most notable works was the zombie film based on the novel of the same title produced by Richard Matheson, where he played a virologist seemingly immune to a catastrophic disease.

The film was produced for $150m and went on to gross $585m way back in 2007, although there was controversy at the ending during which the character canonically died – a contrast to the novel where he survives.

However, Robert Neville will return for the sequel, announced in 2022, that will also star Michael B. Jordan (Creed, Black Panther).

“So we are going with the mythology of the DVD version where my character lived,” Smith said. “I can’t tell you any more.”
