Superstar and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has declared Rihanna the “best singer of all time” ahead of his anticipated Super Bowl LVII halftime show.

“You’d have to be an idiot not to realize that she’s the best singer of all time,” the 45-year-old Coldplay frontman said about Rihanna in an interview with Zane Lowe.

Martin confessed later: “I don’t know Rihanna very well. I’m mainly just a fan and we’ve performed with her a few times and it’s becoming increasingly rare for her to just sing, which is made it even more special, and in a strange way, it showed that she really, really wanted to do it.”

Coldplay collaborated with Rihanna in 2011 on their fifth studio album “Mylo Xyloto”. The track titled “Princess of China” became an instant hit and was followed by a music video as well as several live performances.

“Nobody can make Rihanna do anything at this point,” Martin added, noting that she is “the best singer” in his opinion.

Coldplay performed during the Super Bowl 50 halftime show. When asked about his expectations for Rihanna’s halftime show, Martin said Rihanna, real name Robyn Fenty, would blow his mind no matter what.

He told Lowe: “It’s hard for me, I’m very biased because I’m a huge Rihanna fan. I mean, I think she can walk out in sweatpants and sing, and that’s great “.

At Apple Music’s press conference on Thursday (US time), Rihanna said her show will be just 13 minutes long. Rihanna’s halftime show is now highly anticipated as it marks her long-awaited return to music. Rihanna released her most recent album to date, “Anti” in 2016.

Super Bowl LVII will start on Sunday at 6:30 pm (US time).
