The Kansas City Chiefs won two Super Bowls in a row, everybody knows how important this is for NFL history. After the game, the celebrations gave us many great moments from the players but some may have missed an interaction between NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Travis Kelce. It was short but it described perfectly how most people feel with these Kansas City Chiefs and their dominance. “Back to back, baby,” Kelce told Goodell. “That’s another echelon.” “Back to back is…” Goodell interjected. “That’s a different tier,” Kelce added. “It is,” Goodell responded.

Patrick Mahomes wants 3 consecutive Super Bowls

Goodell did seem like he was in awe of the Chiefs’ achievements but the next frame describes what Patrick Mahomes’ intentions are for next season. As the leading quarterback and already in the GOAT conversation, Mahomes was quick to point out that nobody has ever won three straight Super Bowls. That’s exactly the goal he has in mind for next season. If there is a team and a quarterback who is capable of making that happen, that is Patrick Mahomes with the Kansas City Chiefs. Having Travis Kelce around is also a massive boost in results.

It is crystal clear that these two stars are the main reason the chiefs have already won three out of four Super Bowls they played. We still have no idea how far these Chiefs will make it when it’s all said and done but they certainly are still young with many great years still at the top of their game. Come next season, it will be interesting to see which other NFL franchise can stand up and spoil Mahomes and Kelce’s intentions. The challengers for the throne are many but not all of them can get the job done. Beating one of the best teams in NFL history is no easy feat.
