Tom Brady was no stranger to emotionally charged sideline confrontations during his playing career

TOM Brady has weighed in on the sideline bust-up between coach Andy Reid and Travis Kelce during Super Bowl LVIII.

During the Kansas City Chiefs’ 25-22 win against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas, Kelce went viral when he let loose on his head coach.

With the Chiefs down 3-0 with just over twelve minutes to go in the second quarter, things went from bad to worse as Kansas City running back Isiah Pacheco lost a fumble in the red zone.

An irate Kelce swiftly headed over to Reid, tossing his helmet aside in the process.

He then barged into Reid, proceeding to scream directly into his face, even having to be held back by teammate Jerrick McKinnon at one point.

All throughout, Reid remained stony-faced and silent.

Social media erupted with fans left divided on the incident, and in the days that have followed, media members have also weighed in on the incident.

NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin, for example, said on FS1’s Undisputed that Kelce needs “To check himself.”

But by comparison, Brady, who had his fair share of sideline disputes during his career, has now revealed that he had no issues with the exchange.

“There’s always little family issues and of course, I don’t mind seeing it cause I was a part of a lot of those things,” he said on the Let’s Go! podcast.

“Emotions are so high. You are definitely not centered and balanced.

“You’re not in a meditative state at that point. You are fully determined to go out there and to win.

“So I think a lot of the things that are said during the games, people should just let them fly off their back.”

Brady was also impressed with Reid’s handling of the situation which he described as “Just awesome,” adding that “It just speaks to his leadership ability.”

Following the win, Reid spoke to CBS where he laughed off the incident, claiming, “He keeps me young. Tested that hip out.”

Reid subsequently commented that Kelce simply, “Caught me off balance – normally, I’d give him a little bit, but I didn’t have any feet under me.”

“It speaks to the self-confidence that coach Reid has in himself, too, cause he doesn’t take that personally at all,” Brady went on to say.

“He doesn’t look at that and feel like someone offended him.

“He takes it for what it is and doesn’t make it more than it is and doesn’t see like someone’s trying to belittle him.

“Travis is not trying to do any of those things. He’s just trying to be fired up and stay in the moment.”

And Reid too eluded to Kelce’s competitive mentality in an interview with NBC Sports’ Peter King.

“He’s wound up so tight,” Reid said. “He says, ‘Don’t count me out! I’m good! I can do this!’

“I love that intensity. It radiates.”

Despite Reid’s insistence that there was no issue between him and Kelce over the incident, some fans have continued to criticize the tight end for his behavior. However, Brady said that the viral clip was simply, “Out of context,” adding, “They don’t understand the context of that moment from a player-coach standpoint.”Brady (R) was no stranger to similarly heated exchanges during his playing days3Brady (R) was no stranger to similarly heated exchanges during his playing daysCredit: Fox
