TOUGH SCENE Stephen A. Smith ‘sick and tired’ of Victor Wembanyama talk and opens up on ‘most embarrassing photo of my life’
Smith’s colleague also agreed with his argument on the popular sports TV program
STEPHEN A. Smith told TV viewers that he’s had enough of the Victor Wembanayama chatter while revealing a humiliating experience.
The 56-year-old is the co-host of ESPN’s First Take and was alongside NFL icon Shannon Sharpe for Tuesday’s edition of the popular sports TV show.

Smith and Sharpe discussed the Houston Rockets defeating the San Antonio Spurs 93-82 on Monday night.
The Spurs are led by the 2023 No. 1 overall pick 7-foot-4 Wembanayama, who scored 15 points on 7-15 shooting and an impressive 18 rebounds.
Stephen A. complimented Wembanyama’s abilities and said the rookie “can ball” and that “he has an incredible future.
However, Smith said that he’s “sick and tired” of people talking about the native of France.
“He just has to jump to dunk!” he said to Sharpe.
But Stephen A. then told his colleague about the “most embarrassing photo of my life.”
The First Take shared that he went to the 2023 NBA draft in June.
Smith then spoke about the fact that he took a picture with Wembanyama, only to be as tall as the then-NBA prospect’s stomach.
Sharpe laughed at the story as Stephen A. then compared himself to Mini-Me, an Austin Powers character who stood at less than three feet tall.
Sharpe agreed with Smith’s argument that dunking at 7-foot-4 isn’t monumental.
“[Wembanyama] is only two inches shorter than Goliath,” the NFL Hall of Famer said.
“And Goliath is one of the tallest men to ever live.
“C’mon man.”
“He’s supposed to be able to dunk.”
Wembanayama averages 18.8 points per game as the Spurs are 3-19, which is one of the worst records in the league.
