Vinyl has been back in fashion and thriving for years now, but no one can sell an album in the format like Taylor Swift. The singer often breaks records—usually his own—when a new project hits the wax, and his biggest releases are always bestsellers. Swift is no stranger to dominating America’s vinyl charts, but this week, her performance was extraordinary.
Currently, Swift claims 60% of the spots within the top 10 on the Vinyl Albums chart. Half a dozen titles from the Grammy winner are within the highest level of Billboards weekly ranking of the bestselling albums and EPs on vinyl in the United States. He almost had the top five all to himself, but a legend snapped his winning streak.
Swift sits at No. 1 of his latest release, 1989 (Taylor’s Version). The album, a re-recording of his great success 1989exploded onto the Vinyl Albums chart a month ago and the throne hasn’t been vacant since.
Spaces three through six are also occupied by Swift. The chart-topper saw its biggest sellers About midnight (No. 3), MOONLIGHT ROMANCE (No. 4), Loving (No. 5), and Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) (No. 6) all rose from where they sat last week on the Vinyl Albums chart.
Swift almost dominated the entire top five, but Dolly Parton’s new offering Rock star crushed that hope. Rock star open at No. 2, almost to conquer the list.
A little further—but still inside the top 10 on the Vinyl Albums chart—Swift has arrived again. His 2021 re-release Red (Taylor’s Version) rebounded to No. 9, which returned to the top spot in the ranking. In the final frame, it fell to No. 23 out of 25-spot tally.
