HISTORIC LOSSES Eerie LeBron James and Michael Jordan stat emerges after suffering worst loss of their NBA careers
These perennial winners have a remarkable losing stat in common
THE LeBron James and Michael Jordan comparisons have reached another bizarre level.
On November 27, James suffered his worst career loss to date against the Philadelphia 76ers, with the Lakers losing 138-94.

Following the loss, it was pointed out by Hoops Wire that just like James, Jordan’s biggest-ever career loss also came via a 44-point deficit.
His occurred during his second to last season in 2002 as a member of the Washington Wizards.
Their 111-67 loss to the New Jersey Nets came when Jordan was exactly 38 years old.
In another strange coincidence, James too was 38 years old.
In fact, Jordan was just two days older at the time of his loss on January 26, 2002.
The Lakers’ blowout loss appeared to seriously frustrate James, who was spotted angrily gesturing toward teammates during the game.
After the game, it appeared James’ frustration hadn’t yet subsided, as he told the media he felt they had gotten “killed on the three-point line today.”
And when asked what he felt would have to change moving forward, he simply said: “A lot.”
As for how the team needed to react to the loss, James said: “I don’t know how a team [should].
“I can only speak for myself. I don’t like it.”
Ultimately, the Lakers wasted no time in bouncing back, beating the Detroit Pistons 133-107 on November 29 to move to 11-8 on the season.
And in another strange twist of fate, Jordan too rebounded quickly from his headline loss.
Just three days later, the Wizards took on Jordan’s former team, the Chicago Bulls, winning 77-69.
