Devin Booker speaks out on Suns teammate’s public unhappiness

No one is getting under Devin Booker’s skin because he isn’t Michael Jordan.

During an interview with reporters this past weekend, Booker, a standout for the Phoenix Suns, addressed comments made by his veteran teammate Gordon. Gordon has been vocal about his dissatisfaction with his position on the squad and his desire to be used more offensively.

According to Duane Rankin of the Arizona Republic, Booker stated that, “Nobody takes what he said personal around here” in reference to Gordon’s remarks. He’s been involved for quite some time. He has the ability to carry on his promises, and he has earned their respect.

The Suns’ dismal 14–14 record this season (11th in the West) has put a damper on their already tense situation. Gordon had a great start to the season because he is a gifted shooter who can also dish the ball out and create with either foot in the paint. Despite the Suns’ continued absence of fellow guard Bradley Beal, he is averaging a pitiful 8.3 points on 8.4 shots per game in December.

Despite being in his first season with the Suns at the age of 35, Gordon is respected for his 16 years of experience in the NBA and his role in numerous deep playoff campaigns. Although Booker has been around some troublesome players in Phoenix, including the team’s longest-tenured player and de facto leader, Gordon does not appear to be one of them.
