“Can’t Shoot”: Jrue Holiday Makes Hilarious Confession to Jayson Tatum’s Son Ahead of Nets Matchup
The Boston Celtics are playing their first in-season tournament game against the Brooklyn Nets. They started this season red-hot, winning five of their first seven games. The new-look Boston Celtics are currently sitting in the second spot in the Eastern Conference standings. And a big reason for their success has been their recruit, Jrue Holiday. The Celtics acquired Holiday after he got traded by Milwaukee in exchange for Damian Lillard.
Before the Celtics faced the Nets, Jrue Holiday made a hilarious confession to Jayson Tatum’s son.
Jrue Holiday’s hilarious confession
The Boston Celtics have been in sensational form ever since they added Jrue Holiday to their roster. The veteran guard is averaging 13.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists this season. But before the start of the Celtics-Nets game, he made a confession to Jayson Tatum’s son Deuce, that brought forth his weakness on the court. “You know what? You got to start passing to your daddy, Okay? I can’t shoot,” Holiday said, in a hilarious interaction with Deuce Tatum. Jayson’s 5-year-old son attends a lot of the Celtics games and gets on the court before games to shoot around with the players. It is great to see how fast Jrue Holiday has become friends with his new teammate’s son.

Jrue’s interaction with Deuce was hilarious, but there was not much truth in his comments. Unlike what he said, Jrue is a decent shooter on the court. He is a career 36.6 percent three-point shooter, which is only 1 percent less than Jayson Tatum. Even inside the three-point line, Holiday has a solid career shooting percentage of 50. So, he is not as bad of a shooter as he is making it seem.
Jrue Holiday could help the Boston Celtics win a championship
The Boston Celtics have been one of the best teams in the league for a few years. They have made it to five Conference Finals in the last seven years and made an NBA final appearance in 2022. But Jayson Tatum and Co. have been unable to lift the Larry O’Brien trophy. It seems like they were missing one key piece that could help them get over the hump. Jrue Holiday could be that missing piece for the Celtics.
Holiday helped the Milwaukee Bucks win a title in 2021 as soon as he joined the team. He can do the same thing for the Boston Celtics this year. Jayson Tatum and co. have a much better team than last season with Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, and they might be able to get over the hump and win the long-awaited NBA Championship this season.
