10 Days Before Facing off for the First Time, Lebron James and Victor Wembanyama’s Comments About Each Other Resurface
San Antonio Spurs is going to face the Los Angeles Lakers on December 14 at Frost Bank Center. The NBA fans are keeping their fingers crossed for the much-awaited battle. It will be the battle between two teams but the GOAT of the NBA LeBron James will face the upcoming star Victor Wembanyama. The Spurs star was included in the NBA draft and has been making waves since then.
The two stars have talked about each other. Wembanyama highly anticipated the meeting with LeBron. And Lakers veteran himself has given the verdict about the abilities of the young prodigy. As the two are meeting each other in the December 14 battle, their past is coming to light.
What LeBron James and Victor said about each other in the past
Sharing admiration for the young sensation, LeBron waxed lyrical while talking about Wembanyama. He praised the grace and fluidity of Victor and said that calling him an alien was more appropriate for him. LeBron said, “We’re labeling like this unicorn thing—everybody’s been a unicorn over the last few years. But he’s more like an alien—no one has seen anyone as tall as he is but as fluid and as graceful as he is on the floor.”
Replying to the same Victor expressed pleasure at being called an alien because he didn’t like being called a unicorn. He said as reported by Sports Illustrated, “I like being called an alien, yeah. It’s really what I’m working to be—something unique and original.”
With December 14 nearing, the Wembanyama must be eager to meet his idol on the court like he was months back.
Wembanyama’s eagerness to meet LeBron
With 7 feet in height, Wembanyama has registered stunning records to his name. Victor has 2.7 blocks per game, and 9.7 rebounds in 18 regular season games. Wembanyama has stamped his name as a budding legend and a defense anchor with stellar scoring abilities.
Months back he was asked whom he was excited to play with and whom he has grown up watching. Wembanyama took the name of LeBron and shared how strange it felt thinking about meeting with someone big.
Wembanyama said, “Yeah I know it’s gonna feel really special when I play against the big the top guys I’ve been watching for my whole life especially LeBron you know with that I guess LeBron is going to feel like so weird.”
Do you think Wemby will live up to the hype? Let us know in the comments.
