Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs entered Week 13 with a 10-1 record, listed as the No. 1 team in the AFC standings.

The Chiefs have been dominating opponents all year and much of the credit should go to their MVP quarterback, Mahomes.

During the Black Friday matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, Mahomes became the Chiefs’ franchise leader in touchdown passes.

With 238 touchdown passes in Mahomes’ eight-year NFL career, he surpassed Chiefs legend Len Dawson (237 touchdowns).

Mahomes connected with wide receiver Justin Watson in the second quarter of the Week 13 matchup, securing the franchise record, while helping Kansas City earn a 10-3 lead.

Mahomes and the Chiefs entered the matchup against the Raiders as a 13.5-point favorite, per ESPN BET.

They’ve proven to be one of the top Super Bowl contenders, after heading into the year having won back-to-back titles.

If Mahomes and company were to hoist up the Lombardi Trophy for the 2024 season, they would become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls.

Len Dawson played for the Chiefs for 14 seasons, from 1962 to 1975. During his NFL career he became a Super Bowl champion (IV), Super Bowl MVP, three-time AFL champion, AFL MVP, two-time First Team All-AFL member and six-time AFL All-Star.

Following his legendary career, he was inducted into the Chiefs Hall of Fame in 1979 and the NFL Hall of Fame in 1987.
