Caitlin Clark keeps celebrating the on-court success and the special dates in her life. Connor McCaffery, Clark’s boyfriend, turned 26 on Friday, and the WNBA rookie didn’t hesitate to celebrate him on social media, sending a big message for the special day and even taking a jab at McCaffery.
“Happy Birthday Con! Celebrating you is easy 🙂 thankful to have someone as selfless and as loving as you in my life May this be the year you finally find a way to outshoot me 😉 Love you always 🥺🤍,” she captioned the post.
Clark and McCaffery share more than their romantic relationship. They both played basketball at Iowa, with McCaffery staying there for six seasons before becoming a basketball coach in 2023. They made the relationship public in August 2023 after Clark shared pictures of them on a boat on Instagram.
The couple has been very active on social media, even playing pickleball against Caitlin Clark’s teammate Lexie Hull. Moreover, McCaffery hyped up Clark when she sported an all-black outfit for a game.
Caitlin Clark makes surprising admissions about ESPY award
Caitlin Clark made history with the Iowa Hawkeyes, becoming the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division I. Her incredible performances earned her the ESPY for Best Record-Breaking Performance, becoming the first woman to win the accolade.
After learning about that, Clark shared her surprise and even named one athlete who should have won it before her, saying:
“I think it’s super cool. I think it probably shouldn’t have been the first woman to ever win that award, in my eyes. Just because I grew up supporting so many different female athletes that I idolized and I loved. The amount of records I saw people break and win… Like how did Serena Williams never win that award? That’s crazy.
Hopefully, it’s the start to women getting more recognition and their accomplishments being recognized a little bit more… but for me, it’s just something I’m really grateful for,” Clark said.
Clark is making the headlines during her rookie season. The Indiana Fever rookie became the first player to record a triple-double in franchise history and the first rookie to do so after scoring 19 points, grabbing 12 rebounds and dishing 13 assists against the New York Liberty.
She’s showing glimpses of her brilliance and if she keeps getting better, the Fever will have a franchise player for many years.
