Following the Los Angeles Rams’ 30-24 win over the Minnesota Vikings on “Thursday Night Football,” quarterback Matthew Stafford and his wife, Kelly Stafford, went to Taylor Swift’s Eras concert tour.
The couple surprised their four daughters, twins Sawyer and Chandler, 7, Hunter, 6 and Tyler, 4, by decking out a private jet in Swiftie decorations and revealing the entire family was heading to New Orleans for the singer’s show.
Stafford posted a video from the epic trip on Oct. 31 and wrote in part, “Thank you Taylor Swift for making my girls love music… and football 🤣.”
Considering Stafford recently complained about the 34-year-old pop star and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, her gushing post over Swift immediately raised some eyebrows.
“I don’t know if I want to see another four months of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce coverage,” Stafford declared in May on “The Morning After,” which she co-hosts with best friend Hank Winchester.
The former University of Georgia cheerleader said on the latest podcast episode, “Going to the concert, I knew there was going to quote/unquote backlash.”
“Now, I have never once said I don’t like Taylor Swift, ever. But I will say I kinda got tired of the Chiefs coverage, or actually, the NFL’s coverage of this budding relationship last year.
While Stafford, 34, now realizes that Swift has no control over how much she’s shown on TV, “I almost felt like it was outshining the games,” she continued. “I think that’s what’s bothered me.”

As for why she made the comment in the first place, “I had some jealousy issues of the fact that she all of sudden became the main show in NFL football, or their relationship.
“And I watch my husband, and all these guys who play for the league work their asses off and all of a sudden they’re the side show.”
Stafford, however, has since completely changed her view of Swift’s presence at NFL games.
“I’m so thankful for her in a lot of way. There are so many more women watching. Little girls watching with their dads. It definitely makes my girls love football more knowing she’s adjacent to it… At the end of the day, I’m thankful of the entire thing.”
