A petition calling for an extra Bank Holiday has been launched ahead of England’s Euro 2024 final.
A petition has been launched for fans to get an extra Bank Holiday if England win Euro 2024 as supporters have been urged to sign it ahead of Sunday’s final.
England booked their spot in the showpiece event in Berlin following last night’s dramatic victory over the Netherlands.
The Three Lions came from behind to edge past the Dutch as Harry Kane and Ollie Watkins got on the scoresheet.
Kane cancelled out Xavi Simons’ opener as he converted a penalty following a controversial VAR review.
Felix Zwayer pointed to the spot after reviewing Denzel Dumfries’ challenge on the England captain, angering a Dutch legend who claimed the German referee should be ‘blacklisted’.
Watkins then combined brilliantly with Cole Palmer to score his side’s winner in the 90th minute.
England have set up a meeting with Spain as Gareth Southgate and the players are in line for huge bonuses should they win the Euros.
If England do go all the way, then Prime Minister Keir Starmer has vowed to mark any victory.
Budweiser has endorsed calls for an extra Bank Holiday by setting up a petition.
The beer company has launched a petition in conjunction with SPORTbible and at the time of writing it has already secured over 500 signatures. If you want to get involved, you can click here to sign the petition.

The petition reads: “Your Majesty, With England so close to achieving greatness on Sunday, I couldn’t be prouder of the team, and I know the nation feels the same.
“This summer, I blessed Budweiser beers with the winning spirit of 1966 to inspire England to bring it Home again. Now, England are on the verge of making history.
“As the last surviving member of the ’66 starting XI, I can’t tell you how incredible it would be to see England win again.
“But this moment isn’t just about the team. It’s about England fans across the nation. And as the Official Beer of England, Budweiser is campaigning for a Bank Holiday to allow the fans to celebrate together.
“Should England win, I respectfully ask Your Majesty to grant this Bank Holiday on Monday 15th July.
“Let’s give every fan across this great nation the chance to properly toast the joint Champions of Europe. Yours hopefully, Sir Geoff Hurst.”
Spain stand in the way of England claiming their first international trophy since 1966 and an extra Bank Holiday.
