The 18-year-old defender has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United.
Lille defender Leny Yoro has hit back at a ‘fake’ social media account who suggested he is not interested in a move to Manchester United.
The 19-year-old centre-back, who is regarded by many as one of the biggest prospects in Europe, has been strongly linked with a move away from the Stade Pierre-Mauroy this summer.
Real Madrid and Lille are ‘progressing’ in talks over a deal for Yoro, according to The Athletic, who suggest an agreement could be reached for a fee in the region of £33.8 million plus add-ons.
It was previously reported that Yoro preferred a move to Los Blancos over other interested parties, including Liverpool and PSG. In fact, the above report says Yoro is ‘happy’ with Madrid’s proposal.
But it appears Manchester United have made a last-ditch attempt to spoil the party.
United have had an official offer of £42 million plus bonuses for Yoro accepted by Lille, according to journalist Nabil Djellit, as they try and improve their back line ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
“It is clearly superior to Real Madrid’s proposal,” said Djellit on United’s bid. “The player’s priority remains Real but Manchester United pushes.”
As rumours continue to swirl around his future, Yoro has been forced to speak out after an account on X, formerly Twitter, made a “fake” claim about his interests.
After the account said, “I don’t want you @ManUtd, leave me alone” the real Yoro responded: “Fake account. You guys are psycho. Signal this account.”

Yoro was a standout performer under Bruno Genesio last season, making 41 appearances in all competitions.
Former Manchester United midfielder Angel Gomes, who plays alongside Yoro at the Ligue 1 side, is a huge fan of the French defender.
“As soon as he arrived in the group, I understood that he was going to reach the summits,” Gomes told Eurosport.
“When I discovered the pros at the age of 16 at Manchester United, I understood that it was different. He already had the right temperament.
“And that’s not normal for a 16 or 17-year-old player arriving. It’s like he’s already an experienced player.”
