Furious Caitlin Clark seen ripping into college basketball referees from the stands on return to Iowa
Caitlin Clark could be seen losing her cool in the stands over a controversial refereeing decision on her return to Iowa at the weekend.
Clark, who shattered multiple records during her legendary college stint with the Iowa Hawkeyes, was back in Des Moines on Saturday as her former team took on the Drake Bulldogs at Knapp Center.
Since her rookie WNBA season came to an end in September, the No. 1 draft pick has been enjoying some downtime ahead of her second campaign up in the big leagues next year.
Yet if the viral clip of her in the stands at Iowa is anything to go by, not all of her time off has been relaxing.
And fans absolutely loved seeing the 22-year-old’s passion in the crowd.

In a viral clip on social media, Clark stands up and berates the refs after a controversial call
One user wrote on X: ‘You gotta love that girl!!’
Another said: ‘Iowa pride runs deep’.
A third put: ‘You just know those refs blood went cold when they realized who was yelling from the stands lmao’.
While one joked: ‘Definitely would have gotten a tech if she was playing’.
Clark played in The Annika Pro-Am golf tournament in Florida last week and quickly went viral after her tee shot on the third very nearly hit a spectator in the head.
The WNBA star apologized profusely, but there was no harm done as the spectators raced after the ball in a bid to collect a souvenir from one of the world’s biggest sports stars.
On a later hole, Clark did hit a spectator along one of the fairways, with video showing her signing the ball for her a few moments later.
The performance led to fans joking that she ‘is human after all’, following a season in which she dominated the WNBA on her way to being voted Rookie of the Year.
The WNBA superstar is coming off the back of an incredible rookie season with the Fever
Clark has been the main reason behind a huge spike in viewership and attendance, after she was drafted No 1 overall by the Indiana Fever.
And in her debut season, the former Iowa sensation helped Indiana secure its first playoff berth since 2016.
Clark and the Fever were eventually swept by the Connecticut Sun in the first round of the playoffs.
She is now due a few months off before her second season gets underway, but there has been talk of her joining a new money-spinning winter league.
