Former Los Angeles Sparks star Liz Cambage was hoping to play for Nigeria but a video which had remained under wraps has surfaced in the wake of her getting banned from the Australian national team.
The footage shows Cambage getting knocked out cold by a Nigerian player after being overly and deliberately physical during a 2021 scrimmage that had to be called off.
Cambage left the Opals before the Tokyo Olympics following accusations of her calling Nigerian players “monkeys” and asking them to go back to their “third-world country.”

It’s worth noting that none of Cambage’s teammates rushed to her defense or aid after she got decked.
Cambage, who is now with the Israeli side Maccabi Bnot Ashdod, denied using racial slurs in an interview with Taylor Rooks but has been called out by Nigerian player Promise Amukamara.
Guard Sarah Ogoke has also rejected the idea of Cambage joining the Nigerian team.
“We’re not recruiting you and you definitely spewed racist profanities against us during our scrimmage,” she wrote.
According to ESPN’s Colin Udo, Nigerian basketball officials have refused to speak to Cambage, who was born to a Nigerian father and Australian mother in London, about making the switch.
The full tape of the scrimmage in question is also right below.
