Mr Fahy’s drawing of the Georgia rapper standing in a field holding hands with his younger self features on the new single Where Do We Go Now? which was released last week.

The artist’s crayon style has been making waves in hip-hop circles in recent times – after he recreated album covers from the likes of Kendrick Lemar, Frank Ocean, Tyler the Creator and the late Mac Miller.

Speaking to Newstalk Breakfast, Mr Fahy said he is still trying to process it all.

“Last week on Instagram, I got a message from [Lil Nas X’s] creative director asking would I be interested in doing the artwork for this song,” he said.

“I didn’t realise it was going to be a single and I thought it was something to do with his promotion work.

“I’m still trying to process it really.”

Despite his newfound fame, Mr Fahy said he does not consider himself to be the world’s “best drawer” – even if it is something he has had a lot of practice at.

“I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember,” he said.

The artwork was done on an A4 sheet of paper using a crayon.

It depicts Lil Nas X standing in a green field with a tree, holding hands with his younger self.

“I’m still trying to process it all,” Mr Fahy said.

“I drew it in my small bedroom in Waterford and now it’s being seen across the world – I still find it hard to process.

“It’s cool though, it’s very cool.”

Lil Nas X’s other well-known hits include Sun Goes Down and Industry Baby.
