Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was a superstar in his own regard way before Taylor Swift was in the picture. 

But after his relationship with the 12-time Grammy-winning pop star went public in September, Kelce became more than just a two-time Super Bowl champion in the running for the best tight end in history.

Already a titan on football field, Kelce has gain a huge number of new fans from Swift’s church-like following – helped in no small part this weekend with his appearance in Buenos Aires for the latest stops on the Eras Tour.

As Swift’s fanbase flooded into his social media and NFL viewership, the eyes on Kelce have undeniably increased. But Kelce, who admittedly spends three hours to pick outfits, has always been ready to be seen with a fashion sense as bold as his style of play.

‘I have fun in fashion,’ Kelce told Forbes in 2021. ‘I love to pick a different outfit every single day.’

In recent years, the short walks from the parking lot or team bus to the locker rooms have doubled as fashion shows for athletes. In the NBA and NFL, LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Cam Newton and Odell Beckham Jr have become renowned as sharp dressers.

Like them, Kelce has gained a reputation for being his eye-catching outfits at games or in his day-to-days ventures.

Full of variety, Kelce can go from plains to prints, bright colors to solid shades, baggy to slim fit in a snap of a finger.

‘I kind of just do it off of instinct,’ Kelce told the Wall Street Journal in October. ‘It really just goes down to the wire. I kind of enjoy the creative process of the panic to just throw something together.’

In times gone by, Kelce has sported yellow dungarees and even some slick specs at events

A notable instance was on September 24 when the Chiefs hosted the Chicago Bears on the field and Swift in the stands.

Pre and post game, Kelce wore a white faded denim jacket on top of white shirt, with the pants to match. The jacket and pants featured light blue lines and abstract patterns. This color scheme drew comparisons to the album art for Swift’s re-release of her album ‘1989’.

While Swifties were quick to romanticize Kelce’s outfit, some fans were not impressed and resorted to trolling.

‘Yeah, my buddy is a painter. He got that same outfit,’ one person wrote.

‘Kinda looks like the print on my Bounty toilet paper,’ another added.

‘Obviously, not every look is for everybody,’ Kelce told the Wall Street Journal. ‘I’m not going to be offended if somebody says I look like a clown if I got a fun hat on and some wacky jeans. It is what it is, I’m gonna have fun with it. For the most part, I do it to put a smile on somebody’s face.’

The patterns have made several other appearances including a game against Broncos in Denver and a date night with Swift in New York City. On both occasions, Kelce wore a sweaters with abstract and colorful designs.

On the contrary, Kelce has also sported more traditional and solid colors.

Brown appears to be a strong suit for the 34-year-old, with several of his notable outfits involving the color.

As a guest host on Saturday Night Live, Kelce sported a brown jacket with matching pants and an accessory scarf on top of a black shirt. Kelce has since donated the jacket to be on display at the Chiefs Hall of Honor.

‘Money gave me access to certain designers and just certain fabrics that I absolutely love now,’ Kelce said.

Kelce reportedly told the WSJ that he converted a bedroom in his house into a wardrobe containing over 300 pairs of sneakers.

Kelce took it a step further in 2021 by launching his clothing brand, Tru Colors. Earlier this month, the Chiefs chimed in on Kelce’s brand, making him the ‘first NFL player to ever design an official local club merch collab.’

Whether it is on the field or in fashion, with every few hits, there’s bound to be some misses.

One thing that remains constant is that whether he is sporting a suit at an awards show, wearing a casual outfit on game-day, or lounging in a track suit, Kelce will find a way to make an outfit stand out.
