Jason Kelce has not announced his retirement from the NFL, but he says he has a future with the Eagles, regardless
The older brother of Travis Kelce was there to support the tight end and the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, when the team clinched a spot in the Super Bowl
Jason told The Philadelphia Inquirer that the Eagles season was “incredibly disappointing,” but he looks forward to proving people wrong next year
While his plans are still up in the air, Jason Kelce is sure about one thing: his continued involvement with the Philadelphia Eagles.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen for me, but I do know I still want to be involved in the organization and still want to be a part of it — regardless of what the decision is,” the Eagles center, 36, told The Philadelphia Inquirer. “Because I don’t want to ever feel like I’m on the outside looking in on these achievements and these accolades and these opportunities that largely represent entire cities and fan bases and organizations.”
He added, “It’s too good a feeling to pass up.”
With a decision on his own future as a player unannounced, Kelce was there to soak in his brother Travis Kelce’s achievement on Sunday, when the tight end helped earn the Kansas City Chiefs a spot at the Super Bowl.
While on the field, Jason got emotional after embracing Travis. He also spoke with reporters about his brother’s accomplishment, helping the Chiefs return to the championship game for the fourth time in six years.
“As a brother, I mean, listen, this is an easy team to root for,” Jason told the Inquirer. “This is a team that has not been … had their roses, and been the easiest road for them. They fought, they’ve overcome adversity, they’ve stayed together through all the nonsense. When everybody doubted them, when everybody said they don’t have the guys to get it done, they still find themselves going to the biggest game in the world for football.”
And while Jason’s planning on supporting Travis and the Chiefs in Las Vegas on Feb. 11 — and playing some blackjack, he said — he savors his own opportunity in the not-too-distant future when he can disprove the naysayers.

“As a Philadelphia Eagle, incredibly disappointing season, especially at the end of it,” Jason said of the team’s performance. “And I really, really look forward to next year. I look forward to trying to prove people wrong, especially with some of the recent hires and Nick Sirianni. And there’s a lot of things up in the air for the Philadelphia Eagles.”
He added, “But I think that, as a player, you always look forward to going into battle with your guys.”
