Jason Kelce might be great at buying gifts for his wife, but apparently the Philadelphia Eagles star inadvertently lost points with his kids in purchasing a certain present this year.

On a new episode of Jason and fellow NFL star/brother Travis Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, Kylie Kelce revealed that her husband gave her a necklace for Christmas…plus a slightly less traditional choice, a Transformer Optimus Prime toy robot.

“I’m very excited about it,” Kylie noted of the latter, but added, “Here’s the problem…”

“The kids are terrified of it,” Jason finished her sentence.

The couple’s three daughters (Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 2, and Bennett, 10 months) demonstrated right off the bat that they are not fans of their mom’s new plaything. “We had it on for approximately 30 seconds and there were just absolute screams of terror and we had to immediately turn it off,” Kylie explained.

“Every time they come downstairs, they’re like ‘It’s in the box,’” she continued. “‘You’re not gonna turn on the robot?’ No, I’m not gonna turn on the robot. Every single time.”

Kylie did not report any issues with Jason’s other gift, the necklace which she said came from her “favorite jewelry store.”

Responding to this fine choice, Travis termed his brother “Sexy Santa,” and Kylie agreed. “He is.”

Kylie Kelce is excited for the holiday season!

Debuting her family’s 2023 Christmas Card with PEOPLE, the wife of Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce says that she had a “great time” getting her family together for the holiday card photo shoot, created in partnership with Minted.

The sweet family photos show the mom of three and her husband smiling with daughters Bennett, 8 months, Elliotte, 2, and Wyatt, 3, as well as the family’s two Irish Wolfhounds. Kylie, 31, tells PEOPLE that there’s never a dull moment trying to wrangle their family for a few photos.

“Jason and I definitely, it’s definitely a joint effort to wrangle our children. There’s all hands going out to grab whoever we can, to make sure that we can keep them as close as possible,” she tells PEOPLE. “We had a few photos this year with the dogs which just adds a whole new level of challenge.”

“It was honestly a great time this year, getting together for our holiday card. We had the same person we always use for our photographer, Stephanie Beatty. She is incredible,” she shares.

“We even had our babysitter out just in case we needed some extra hands. But it was made much easier because of Steph and her expertise and all the extra hands on deck.”

For their holiday card, the Kelces chose “Madras,” designed by Minted independent artist Megan Cash of Canton, Ohio. The front of the card features a festive plaid with a fun modern twist. The Kelces worked with one of Minted’s design associates to customize the colors to match the Eagles’ green. The back of the card features additional Kelce family photos and a personal holiday message.

“We have used Minted in the past on our own. It has been the easiest way to have the cutest holiday cards. And in doing that, it was kind of a no-brainer when Minted reached out to connect with us about doing collaborating,” Kylie shares.

“So I’m really happy that we were able to do this. I truly believe in partnering with brands that we either use personally or feel strongly about and Minted fits that mold perfectly. It’s so easy. You just have to get Stephanie to take a cute picture, and then you just plug it into the amazing templates they have online.”

Kylie’s also a big fan of the brand’s newest app feature, which lets you log addresses by taking photos of addresses on envelopes, “so when I receive holiday cards this season, I will be just taking pictures in the app and making sure those people are added to our list for next year.”

“As a mom of three, that is the type of support I need. The easiest possible way,” she laughs. “We are very very appreciative of Minted as a brand and how easy they’ve made holiday.”

While the family is brimming with excitement for this Christmas — their first as a family of five — there’s one important milestone Kylie wants the family to get through first.

“I have to be honest — I am a strictly after-Thanksgiving kind of girl,” she admits.

“I love Thanksgiving. I love that it’s a time of getting together with family and eating delicious food, and so I always want to give that the focus it deserves. And then afterward — I mean, the day after Thanksgiving — it is just holly jolly in our house.”
