To add to his Guinness World Record of longest career as a live-action Marvel superhero, Hugh Jackman enlisted Jimmy Fallon to help try and secure one more

Anyone who has followed Hugh Jackman over the years knows he doesn’t give up without a fight — both on and off the screen.

During a Monday chat with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, the Missing Link voice actor dished about his new Guinness World Record for longest career as a live-action Marvel superhero, for his role as Logan/Wolverine in the X-Men film series.

He shares the title with Patrick Stewart, who has played Professor Charles Xavier (Professor X) for the same amount of time: 16 years and 228 days, as of Feb. 19.

“It is amazing,” said Jackman, 50, of the honor, joking he has only hit the record for the longest-running Marvel live-action superhero “from Australia, over 6-foot-two. That’s [Chris] Hemsworth included. Let me be clear!”

The Greatest Showman actor went on to explain that he and his brother used to dream about setting a Guinness World Record as children, going so far as to pick a specific record to try to beat: the highest number of coins to catch off of one’s elbow, which is a feat Jackman is still chasing today.

“We thought, being geniuses, with our 7-year-old hands that that’s the one we should go for,” he said, sharing that the record is “194 or something.” (According to the Guinness Book of World Records website, the current number to beat — 328! — was set in 1993 by Dean Gould in the U.K.)

In fact, that “ultimate goal in life” was so important to the Jackman brothers that the star joined Fallon, 44, in an attempt to practice breaking the record during the show on Monday, standing up, removing his jacket and rolling up his shirt sleeves to fully commit.

Just like in his film and stage roles, Jackman made it look easy, catching nine coins off his elbow without breaking a sweat as the audience cheered.

The host’s attempt wasn’t quite as clean, though a few coins did make it into his palm. “I guess I won’t be in the Guinness Book for that,” he joked.

As the guys continued their conversation, Jackman quipped they may have been “turning this into the longest Tonight Show of all time.”

“Good! I don’t want you to leave — let’s break the record!” Fallon exclaimed. “Guinness Book, are you watching?!”

Missing Link hits theaters on Friday.
