Chris Hemsworth, the Australian actor known for his role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, once opened up about the moment when his daughter India Rose wanted to be a boy. While appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, in 2015, the actor shared how he handled the situation.

India Rose, who was four years old at the time, approached her father and asked him that she wanted one of those things that her brothers Sasha and Tristan have. Hemsworth, initially taken aback, explained to her how there are differences between male and female bodies.

What Did Chris Hemsworth’s Daughter Ask?

The Thor fame actor is a proud father of three – India and twin sons, Sasha and Tristan. And talking about his daughter’s curiosity while she was just four, the actor narrated one instance in The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

His daughter asked him:

“My daughter is kind of envious of my boys at the moment. She came to me the other day, and she was like, ‘You know, papa, I want one of those things that Sasha and Tristan have.’ I’m like, ‘What do you mean?’”

“She was like, ‘You know, the things in between the legs that you have,’” he recalled.

Maybe it was quite natural for her to have asked for something she does not have, but her siblings have it. And Chris Hemsworth managed to answer her like a pro.

Chris Hemsworth’s Handling of the Situation

While narrating how he had to handle the moment, Hemsworth said that he started explaining to her about the male and female anatomy.

“I was like ‘Oh, um. Well, you see, girls … ‘ and then my brain’s like, ‘How do we handle this?!’”

After thinking for some time, the actor told her that, as a girl, she’ll one day have things her little twin brothers won’t have — like br*asts.

“I don’t want br*asts,” she replied back, and made it clear: “I want a p*nis!”

And, then came a perfect reply:

“I was like … ‘Ya know what, you can be whatever you want to be.’ And she goes ‘Thanks, dad!’ Runs off to the playground and that was it.”

People loved the way Chris Hemsworth handled the situation and how he set an example by giving such a solid answer when his daughter was exploring gender identity.
