BREAKING: Eagles QB Jalen Hurts Offers Worrying Update On His Finger Injury Ahead Of Wild Card Matchup vs. Buccaneers

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has delivered a worrying update on his status ahead of his team’s Wild Card Round matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Hurts, who sustained a dislocated finger while playing the Giants in Week 18, did not suffer any structural damage. However, he has admitted that he hasn’t thrown a football since Sunday, though he is making progress.

He also implied that he regrets trying to play through the pain as it probably wasn’t the best idea.

“I have not (attempted to throw since),” he told reporters at a press conference on Thursday. “Obviously leaving that game and attempting to go back in that game probably was not physically the best idea. Not having much control over the things that I wanted to do. But time will tell with that.”

The QB sustained the injury early in the second quarter of Sunday’s loss vs. the Giants and returned to the game before being replaced by Marcus Mariota before halftime. He completed seven of 16 passing attempts for a total of 55 yards.

Hurts threw for 3,858 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions during the regular season.

The Eagles, who finished as the fifth seed in the NFC after finishing the season with five losses in their last six games, will play the Bucs on Monday night in hopes of progressing to the divisional round.
