Reflecting on Her Journey: Miley Cyrus Shares the Whys behind Her Touring Hiatus, Emphasizing the Importance of Self-Care

Miley Cyrus has stood by her words regarding her decision to quit touring. Amidst the disappointment of certain fans, the renowned singer has taken to social media to reinforce and clarify her stance on this matter.

In her heartfelt message shared on Twitter, she expressed how she currently feels a strong bond with her fans. Despite not being able to connect with them in person during concerts, their presence resonates deeply within her.

“I want to clarify that my decision not to tour has nothing to do with my lack of appreciation for my fans. It simply boils down to the fact that I don’t want to go through the hassle of getting ready in a locker room, which is inevitable when you’re constantly on the road,” she further explained.
This statement comes just a few days after my interview with British Vogue where I mentioned that I wouldn’t be embarking on a tour to promote my latest album, Endless Summer Vacation, despite it being almost a decade since my last global tour (Bangerz Tour in 2014). I explained to the publication that I just can’t bring myself to do it, as performing in stadiums and arenas feels isolating and unnatural to me. It’s not just a matter of capability, it’s also a matter of desire. I have to ask myself, do I want to live my life solely for the pleasure and fulfillment of others or for my own happiness?
In line with these sentiments, I want to reiterate to my fans that my recent decision is rooted in my desire to have a comfortable lifestyle. I simply don’t want to spend my nights sleeping on a moving bus as part of a tour.

“I’m currently focused on what may not be the best choice for me at this moment. As many of you are aware, I tend to evolve and my perception of things could also change,” she expressed. “I will always cherish your support, but for now, I’m embracing an endless summer getaway.”
