Beyonce was a surprise act on the night of the 2024 Olympic Games opening ceremony.

The 32-time Grammy Award winner introduced Team USA during NBCUniversal’s coverage of the ceremony on Friday night, remixing her “Ya Ya” with several American athletes joining her for cameo.

“Hello, girls,” she said to the women’s gymnastics team.

“Hello, Beyonce,” the likes of Jade Carey, Sunisa “Suni” Lee, Simone Biles,  Jordan Chiles, and Hezly Rivera replied.

The men’s gymnastics team was also on show, with Fred Richard, Brody Malone, Paul Juda, Asher Hong, and Stephen Nedoroscik on display.

“Oui oui, Paris,” Beyonce went, “We snappin.’

“We wanna welcome you to the 2024 Summer Olympic games! Ah!” she continued. “On behalf of Team USA, we ‘gon make it do what it do, YA YA! Put them hands together!”

LeBron James, Caeleb Dressel, Noah Lyles, Katie Ledecky, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, and Sha’Carri Richardson were among the other American star athletes who appeared in the video.

The 42-year-old wore a cowboy hat and a white swimsuit with “USA” written in blue and outlined in red on the chest. Over that was a kaftan bearing the Olympic rings.

The competition’s organizers made the River Seine in Paris the world’s biggest stage, with close to 90 boats transporting thousands of athletes from around the world as thousands of spectators watched on.

The spectacle was made even better for NBC viewers, given Beyonce’s surprising appearance.
