James Worthy describes LeBron James’ viral dunk over Paul George

LeBron James' viral dunk is already the NBA's 'dunk of the century'

Los Angeles Lakers legend and NBA Hall of Famer James Worthy described LeBron James‘ viral dunk against the Los Angeles Clippers posterising Paul George as “the dunk of the century”.

It was easily one of the biggest moments of the night and NBA fans flocked to social media to talk about it.

“It’s the dunk of the century. For a 39-year-old to do it…. It looked like Dr. J. (Julius Erving)! He did the Statue of Liberty dunk from the free throw line…. And he dunked it down hard!” the 1982-94 Lakers player who went on to become a three-time NBA champion in the purple and gold said on Spectrum SportsNet Live.

LeBron James led the Los Angeles Lakers 106-103 win over the Clippers with 25 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

The Lakers haven’t been enjoying great form recently and It is widely believed that coach Darvin Ham is coming under pressure as he is being blamed for their issues, which have centred around not being able to protect their early lead. Others believe that LeBron has been left with too much responsibility, and the Lakers need to recruit more star names.

And former Lakers star Lamar Odom, a two-time NBA champion in 2009 and 2010, gave some insight into how they could turn around their form.

Quote-tweeting a video from the NBA official account showcasing the Memphis Grizzlies‘ impressive three-point shooting in a recent game against the LakersOdom wrote on X: “There is only 1 way to fix the Lakers… RUN THE TRIANGLE!!!!”
