Kanye West and Dr. Dre‘s elusive Jesus Is King 2 album has leaked. On Monday (Sept. 25), a social media user shared the full album on the “Through The Wire” Reddit page. Jesus Is King 2 appears to be a 15-song album with a star-studded guest list. Features across the work include Pusha T, Marsha Ambrosius, Eminem, Travis Scott, 2 Chainz, Anderson .Paak, A$AP Ferg, and Snoop Dogg.
A closer look at the project shows that the work seems to be reimagined versions of the original album done by Dr. Dre. Some of the songs included “Water” and “God Is,” with Ye’s production receiving Dre’s signature touch. While the album does seem to be a retouched version of JIK, there are some new moments on the LP as well.
Jesus Is King 2 was announced back in 2019. At the time, Ye took to X/Twitter to reveal his upcoming project. “Ye and Dre, Jesus Is King Part II coming,” he xweeted. Then, during a Sunday Service event, Ye provided more details about the project.
“Jesus Is King is my first clean album,” he said. “I used to spend all my time trying to make my beats be mixed as good as Dr. Dre. Who knew all I had to do was do an album for God, and then Dr. Dre would start mixing my beats? Spend your time on God, and he’ll handle the rest.”
Two years later, the pair shared an unreleased track called “Glory” for a Beats commercial featuring Sha’Carri Richardson.
