Bradley Cooper and Liam Neeson are two of the leading men in Hollywood with a plethora of films under their belt. During their collaboration on the action-packed film The A-Team, Bradley Cooper and the renowned action star Liam Neeson joined forces.

However, a surprising twist occurred when Cooper’s spontaneous improvisation in one of the movie’s scenes caught Neeson off guard, showcasing the dynamic chemistry between the two talented actors.

The iconic duo of Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper graced the silver screen in the cinematic adaptation of the beloved TV series The A-Team, which originally featured the indomitable Mr. T. The 1983 show revolved around a band of former special forces members evading military pursuit for a crime they were falsely accused of committing.

How Did Bradley Cooper Terrify Liam Neeson

The A-Team marked the inaugural collaboration between Bradley Cooper and Neeson, and the experience proved to be delightful, as Neeson attested. Working alongside the charismatic star of Wedding Crashers was an absolute pleasure and undoubtedly one of the most enjoyable aspects of the film for Neeson.

“It was a no-brainer. That’s the thing I’m proudest of with the whole film – our chemistry on screen. It’s there and palpable and it was a joy to go into work every day with the boys, it really was. All egos were left at the door,” Cooper told The Fan Carpet in 2010.

While their camaraderie was strong, Liam Neeson openly acknowledged a moment during filming when Cooper’s unexpected performance took him by surprise. Complicating matters, the scene in question had no script, adding to the spontaneity. Yet, Neeson couldn’t help but be awed and slightly intimidated by Cooper’s impressive improvisation skills, recognizing his remarkable talent.
“We did a scene in the van which was my first time with Bradley. He starts this improvisation, prompted by the director, and I’m there going, ‘What the hell is this?’ So it was terrifying for the first few days, and then it got to be inspiring actually,” Neeson said.

Why Did The Film Never Get A Sequel

With aspirations of launching a franchise, The A-Team was envisioned as a potential series of films. Unfortunately, the initial movie did not pave the way for subsequent installments. Despite the Alias alum’s enthusiasm and admiration for the film, the box-office performance fell short of the necessary threshold to greenlight future sequels.

“I loved it too. But unfortunately outside of you, a few of your friends and myself, there just wasn’t enough revenue to supply a second installment of that franchise,” Cooper once said, according to Movie Web.
The veracity of his statement finds support in the figures. According to The Numbers, the film grossed $177 million worldwide, while carrying a production budget of $110 million. These figures clearly illustrate why the cast and crew deemed a sequel potentially unprofitable based on the financial outcome of the movie.
