All-American Rejects singer Tyson Ritter said Tuesday that a film scene involving Megan Fox put Fox’s fiancee, punk rocker Machine Gun Kelly, into a frenzied “insane mode” on set.

Ritter said on the Tuna on Toast podcast that Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker, verbally abused him on the set of the 2023 film Johnny & Clyde, which starred Ritter and Fox, when he talked about an upcoming scene.

“We’re on set and I’m watching Megan’s trailer because there was this scene in the movie where she’s basically teasing me by putting my fingers in her mouth.” Ritter told presenter Ted Stryker. “So I went up to her and wanted to discuss this moment… her death scene.”

“I was like, ‘Hey Megan, I wanted to talk to you about that moment where when you die you put my fingers in your mouth because you teased that when you’re dead I put my fingers in “Mouth…like…my character is taking revenge,” said Ritter, who has taken a break from music to pursue acting.

Fox was dating “that Colson guy” at the time, Ritter said. Fox and Kelly started dating in 2020 and have made headlines with a tumultuous relationship that has included alleged infidelity, painful engagement rings, confessions about drinking each other’s blood and more proposals for separation.

The talk of fingers and mouths drove Kelly “from zero to incredible anger,” Ritter said, and then from “super angry” to “ballistic” and finally to “insane.”

“I just held the space for it and [realized] “This is what I was looking for for my character in ‘Prisoner’s Daughter,’” Ritter said, referring to his role in another film. “Because the next day I had to shoot this scene in Vegas where this character confronts Kate Beckinsale.”

Ritter said his character in the 2022 Brian Cox film “goes from zero to apeshit” and that Kelly’s outburst showed him “how to flip that switch.”

“He might have had a bad day, but I’ll never forget that,” Ritter said, praising Kelly for adding “a little” to his performance in Prisoner’s Daughter.

“I think the whole experience for me was, ‘What the hell is going on?’” Ritter told Stryker. “There was something like a baby’s arm dangling from his mouth and he was completely out of control. I was just like, ‘Okay, man, I’m just going to receive you.’”
