Following Mark Wahlberg’s departure from Tinseltown to move to Las Vegas, we now have another name in the medley who has decided to walk on a similar path as the Me Time alum.
We are talking about American actor Dean Cain, the talent who is known for having embodied the role of Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
Dean Cain moves to Las Vegas, just like Mark Wahlberg
Just a while back, reports stated that Wahlberg sold his Beverly Hills mansion to move to Las Vegas, where he wishes to provide his children a “better life.” Dean Cain, who detailed the exasperatingly dire nature of California in a statement, expressed a similar sentiment, claiming that his son has become “ten times happier” since the move to Vegas.
With so many stars taking their leave from Hollywood, will Wahlberg’s envisioning of a Hollywood 2.0 work out eventually?
A Recap On Mark Wahlberg’s Move To Las Vegas
Mark Wahlberg
The Uncharted star and his family marked their leave from Los Angeles in 2022, choosing to relocate from their notably opulent $90 million mansion.
In recent interviews, Wahlberg did not shy away from expressing his thoughts on the matter. As per claims made by the talent, moving to Las Vegas has allowed his children to pursue their interests and career.
Having only praises to share for the state of Nevada, Mark Wahlberg told Fox Business that ample opportunities for growth are to be found at his new place of residence.
He stated that the Governor of the state, Joe Lombardo, is actively seeking to develop a job landscape beyond the realm of gaming. Wahlberg himself wishes to be an operative force in helping create those opportunities.
Mark Wahlberg’s desire to create Hollywood 2.0
In another interview, the Transformers alum told the following to CNBC:
“I would love to see us building studios, creating jobs, and just diversifying the economy. I’ve moved my last film here. I’m shooting another film here coming up in the summertime.”
This endeavor has ensued efforts on the 52-year-old actor’s part in advocating for the cause. The talent is lobbying Nevada state legislators to pass a bill for an increase of tax credits, elevated up to $190M annually, for film production in the state.
From such instances, we can tell that the veteran actor is quite hopeful and ambitious in wanting to create “Hollywood 2.0” in Las Vegas.
Dean Cain Embarks On A Similar Journey
American actor Dean Cain
The Vendetta actor, notable particularly for his run as DC’s Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, seems to have made a move akin to Mark Wahlberg.
After selling his lavish mansion in Malibu, reports claimed that the actor purchased a home in Las Vegas. As per TMZ, this new abode was purchased for an amount of just under $4 million.
Speaking to Fox News, the DC star emphasized that albeit having loved the state, the increased spike in crimes and the faulty state policies has effectively led to a ‘mass exodus from California’, driving people away from the place, including himself.
The following was the 56-year-old actor’s statement:
“I love California … Everything’s wonderful about it except for the policies. The policies are just terrible. The fiscal policies, the soft-on-crime policies, and the homelessness policies. The things that our leaders in California have been doing have driven out anybody who can really afford to get out. People are flocking out of there in droves.”
In the interview, Dean Cain also expressed excitement and joy over having to live in Vegas now, where the taxes are low and traffic is less. Truly a utopian destination for many.
The actor, who was also once the host of Ripley’s Believe It or Not, ascertained that the “smart move” allowed him to spend quality time with his family, where they are living a better, happier life.
Dean Cain agrees with Mark Wahlberg’s vision of Hollywood 2.0
Commenting on Wahlberg’s move to Vegas, Cain stated that he believes that the veteran actor has done “something very smart for his family.” When talking about the expansion of the film industry in the state of Nevada, the DC star affirmed his “100%” trust in the vision.
“Mark did a smart thing, and, hopefully, I believe I’ve done a very, very smart thing,” concluded the actor.
With another notable face in Hollywood marking a departure from California, time will only tell how many more are to follow. One will have to wait to see whether or not Wahlberg’s dream of Hollywood 2.0 comes to fruition.
