Macaulay Culkin reunited with onscreen mom Catherine O’Hara three decades after Home Alone.

As Culkin, 43, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, O’Hara, 69, attended to give a speech at the ceremony, looking back at witnessing the actor evolve in the 33 years since 1990’s Home Alone.

Home Alone was, is and always will be a beloved global sensation … the reason families all over the world can’t let a year go by without watching and loving Home Alone together is because of Macaulay Culkin.”

Directed by Chris Columbus and written by John Hughes, Home Alone also starred Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern and John Heard.

O’Hara added that Culkin gave a “perfect performance” as Kevin McCallister: “I know you worked really hard, I know you did, but you made acting look like the most natural thing in the world to do.”

O’Hara, who also made 1992’s Home Alone 2: Lost in New York with Culkin, said the star brings his “sweet and twisted, yet totally relatable” sense of humor to every project he does. “It’s a sign of intelligence in a child and a key to survival at any age,” she said of humor.

“Macaulay, congratulations. You so deserve your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And thank you for including me, your fake mom who left you home alone not once but twice, to share in this happy occasion. I’m so proud of you,” she concluded.

The two shared a hug, and Culkin wiped away tears next to the podium.

Also in attendance was Culkin’s fiancée Brenda Song, 34, and their two kids: a baby son born earlier this year and son Dakota, 2.

Culkin got emotional while speaking at the ceremony, thanking O’Hara and Natasha Lyonne (his costar from 2003’s Party Monster) for paying tribute to him in their speeches.

“Thanks for all your kind words and your stories and stuff. You know, you made my kids’ dad, their papa, look good. And the most important thing to me is also that their papa understands that he wasn’t always his papa; he used to be a kid too, you know?” he said with a laugh.

He concluded: “To wrap things up, and in the spirit of the holiday season, I just wanna say Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals,” a callback to a moment from his Home Alone 2.
