Is there a possibility that  Taken 4 will happen at some point? Absolutely not, says Liam Neeson himself. He isn’t prepared to see his daughter taken once more.

The hero of the aforementioned immensely popular franchise, which gave rise to an equally popular meme, claimed that he intends to avoid accepting acting jobs in action-related movies in an old interview with Entertainment Tonight.

In the movies, Neeson portrayed Bryan Mills, a former CIA agent with a “very particular set of skills.” He would search for you, find you, and kill you, so kidnappers beware. Liam Neeson made it clear that there is absolutely no chance of  Taken 4 ever happening, at least to his knowledge, when Stephen Colbert questioned him about it on The Late Show.

“No, there’s not. There are only so many times your daughter can be taken. Actually, if we do have another it will be, ‘Please can you take my daughter’?”

Jokes apart, Liam Neeson made a valid point. Critics had a generally negative reaction to the first  Taken, but action movie enthusiasts adored it. The plot of the film was really straightforward, and it was supported by a slightly outlandish action hero, tons of fantastic action, and one speech that will stick in your memory. The issue with Taken 2 and Taken 3 was that they both recycled the idea of Bryan Mills, the main antagonist, having his daughter kidnapped. He eventually stopped being a great father for saving her and just started being an awful one for allowing this to happen. Therefore, it was somehow very logical that  Taken 4 won’t take place.

The plotlines in all of the Liam Neeson-starring action movies to date have revolved around former CIA agent Bryan Mills’ efforts to save his wife, his daughter, and/or even himself from a seemingly never-ending stream of insane lunatics.

But rather than being renowned for his acting skills, it appears that he is now more popular as a meme and a generic action hero.

Neeson has been in numerous action films throughout the years and has always shown that he can draw large audiences. Over the years, he has collaborated with a number of well-known directors, including George Lucas and Steven Spielberg.

Neeson claimed that  Taken was the film that established him as a legitimate action star, and as a result of the part, he received numerous offers for other action roles. Those offers continue, even as he gets older.

“I turn 70 this year, so I’m still getting away with it,” he joked during an interview in 2022 with Today.

The three  Taken films have collectively grossed close to $1 billion globally, despite having relatively low production costs. There may still be a Taken movie if there is money to be created, despite the disappointment of fans and the fact that Liam Neeson won’t be in  Taken 4.
