Liam Neeson is an actor who has stepped into almost every genre. From action to comedy, he hasn’t limited himself to just one type of role or movie. This has benefitted him thoroughly, contributing to his success in Hollywood. He has the privilege to pick the movie he wants to do and reject any role that comes his way.

Even with that advantage, there are moments when some roles come to him and he can’t grab them. Then there are also roles that he played in the past and would somehow like to play them again. One such role in Neeson’s roster is none other than a God. What is ironic, though, is how even with so many lead characters in his name, the one that caught his eye the most was a side character.

Liam Neeson Wants To Play Zeus Again

Liam Neeson has expressed his interest in reprising his role as Zeus in Clash of the Titans. The franchise saw the actor play the King of Gods and it was something that left a mark on Neeson. He exclaimed about how wonderful it was to play the character and how if the opportunity were to present itself, he would not hesitate before saying yes.

“Zeus, I think. The god Zeus. There’s just something about being the god of gods, do you know what I mean? I get such a kick out of doing that. In having a bald eagle, a huge bald eagle sitting on my throne, and it’s funny. Where I am at the minute, I’m 90 miles north of Manhattan, there’s a bald eagle outside in the field eating the carcass of a deer.”
The actor even added that there had been signs all around him about how he is destined to play the role again. Eagles are a common sign of the presence of Zeus. In Greek mythology, an eagle would signify the King of Olympus is there. As he saw so many eagles around him, especially a bald eagle, he believed that there is no better opportunity.

Could Liam Neeson Play Zeus In God of War?

The  God of War franchise has introduced within its lore a series of Gods and the story isn’t one that can be taken lightly either. It has a fan following which is absolutely massive and the fan casting of the same has already begun ever since the franchise was picked up by Amazon Prime for a series. One potential candidate for Zeus can very well be Liam Neeson. The actor is anyways willing to take up the role and is fond of it as well.

At the same time, he is intrigued by the possibilities of what the role can offer. If he is willing to not limit himself to just one franchise in playing Zeus, then  God of War could be the absolute perfect franchise for him. It would allow him the room to explore his character and play him once again.
