Julia Roberts has been married to her husband, Danny Moder, for nearly two decades, but you might not be familiar with her other high-profile romances. The Pretty Woman star previously dated Hollywood hunks like Liam Neeson, Kiefer Sutherland and more.

Julia got her start in the A-list dating scene when she was first linked to the Schindler’s List actor in 1987. The Wonder actress and Liam were together for a year, but it didn’t turn out to be true love. Over the next few years, Julia juggled her romantic life while cementing her status as an iconic movie star.

During the earlier days of her career when she starred in 1998’s Satisfaction, 1989’s Steel Magnolias and many others, she dated Dylan McDermott, Kiefer and Jason Patric. The Academy Award winner also took a shot at marriage when she walked down the aisle with her first husband, Lyle Lovett, in 1993.

Sadly, their relationship only lasted a short amount of time as they called it quits in 1995. She later experienced multiple other relationships before falling in love with her second husband, Danny, in 2001.

Since the Erin Brockovich star and the American cinematographer tied the knot in 2002, they’ve remained stronger than ever. Even after being together for more than 19 years and welcoming three children, Phinnaeus, Hazel and Henry, Julia still considers herself to be one “lucky” lady.

“He truly, to this day, to this minute, is just my favorite human,” the Runaway Bride alum gushed on an episode of Gwyneth Paltrow‘s “Goop” podcast in November 2018. “I’m more interested in what he has to say or his point of view just more than anybody.

We just really, really like each other and we just enjoy each other’s company.” The Eat Pray Love actress also marveled over the moment she first laid eyes on the Secret in Their Eyes creator. “I think that first kind of real ‘seismic shift’ was meeting Danny,” Julia gushed at the time.

“That was the first like, my life will never be the same in the most incredible, indescribable way.” We’re so happy Julia found her soulmate! Scroll through the gallery below to see a full list of Julia’s dating history through the years.

Matthew Perry

The Homecoming star’s romance with Matthew was brief but forever encapsulated onscreen, thanks to her appearance opposite him on an episode of Friends.

Matthew revealed in his 2022 memoir, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, that he “sabotaged” their romance because he was afraid the movie superstar would leave him.

Julia was approached to guest star on Friends’ 1996 post-Super Bowl episode and agreed to do it only if her character was involved in a storyline with Matthew’s Chandler Bing.

The two ended up flirting with each other long-distance in late 1995 and were dating by the time the episode taped. Two months later, Matthew dumped Julia. “Dating Julia Roberts had been too much for me.

I had been constantly certain that she was going to break up with me. Why would she not? I was not enough; I could never be enough; I was broken, bent, unlovable,” he wrote in his book.

“So, instead of facing the inevitable agony of losing her, I broke up with the beautiful and brilliant Julia Roberts.” “She might have considered herself slumming it with a TV guy, and TV guy was now breaking up with her. I can’t begin to describe the look of confusion on her face,” he described. Kristina Bumphrey/Starpix/Shutterstock

One of Julia’s longest romances was with fellow Miss Congeniality actor Benjamin Bratt. However, their relationship started years before they ever appeared in the hit film together.

According to reports, Julia laid eyes on her former lover while they were out and about in New York City in November 1997. After being introduced by friends, the former couple dated for almost four years before splitting in June 2001. Kristina Bumphrey/Starpix/Shutterstock

Danny Moder

Julia has been happier than ever with her husband, Danny, since they tied the knot in July 2002. The couple first met on the set of the Mexican in 2001. At the time, Danny was working as a cameraman, while Julia starred as Samantha Barzel opposite Brad Pitt.

Even though the Emmy Award nominee was married to his first wife, Vera Steimberg, for over four years when he met Julia, the Hollywood stars couldn’t deny the connection. Danny and his former spouse ultimately called it quits in 2001.

The following month after their divorce was reportedly finalized in June 2002, Danny and Julia walked down the aisle. They later started their family when they welcomed their twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus, in 2004, followed by the birth of their youngest son, Henry, in 2007.

As the years have passed, the duo have managed to maintain their strong bond despite some challenges. “[They] truly feel like soulmates,” an insider exclusively told Closer in June 2021, noting nothing will ever come between Julia and Danny. “They’re committed to staying together for the long haul … whatever it takes.” Kristina Bumphrey/Starpix/Shutterstock
