Hollywood stars Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt’s relationship was one of the most high-profile celebrity romances of the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Their marriage, subsequent separation, and enduring friendship constantly kept them in the media’s spotlight. It is believed that Pitt fell for Angelina Jolie while working with her in the 2005 movie, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and that ended his relationship with Aniston.

Aniston and Pitt were together between 1999 and 2005. While they were dating, the two got an opportunity to star in Stephen Herek’s 2001 movie, Rock Star, however, Pitt was removed from the project and Aniston had to work with Mark Wahlberg.

Rock Star is a movie in actress Jennifer Aniston‘s filmography that she would be embarrassed to talk about. In the movie, she played the role of Emily Poule. In a past interview with Female AU, Aniston explained that she almost refused to star in the movie,
“They were working on the film for a while and then it went away. Then about a year later I got the call from my manager, and she said do you remember Rock Star?

I said, yes. And she said, Mark Wahlberg’s doing it, how would you feel about playing the love interest? At the time I remembered there not being much of a part, so I said no, but she explained that they were writing it in. They’d create it and put it together. So I said, sure, that sounds great.”
Initially, Brad Pitt was selected to play the role of Chris “Izzy” Cole, the star of the movie, however, due to creative differences, Pitt quit the project.

The actress talked about working with Mark Wahlberg

After Pitt quit the project, the role went to Mark Wahlberg. There were rumors that Aniston wanted to quit the project because Pitt, her boyfriend at the time, was removed from the movie. However, she worked with Wahlberg and it seems like it was a delightful experience for her. In the same interview, she said,
“It was amazing, I love him [Mark Wahlberg]. First of all, he’s so talented and makes such amazing, seamless transitions from character to character. He’s good at what he does and he becomes that character. He put on those leather pants, and that was pretty much all he had to do. There was no Marky Mark anywhere to be seen.”
The movie was made on a budget of $57 million and it only managed to gross about $19 million at the global box office, making it a failure.
