Hollywood stars are often required to change their appearance for their on-screen roles. These alterations can vary from losing or gaining weight to opting into their character’s environment.
Mark Wahlberg did not have to follow extreme measures for his role in the sci-fi action franchise, but he had to let his hair grow to portray Cade Yeager in the 2017 sci-fi film, Transformers: The Last Knight.
While his fans find the actor’s looks always pleasing to the eyes, and this time his wife also felt the same, Wahlberg revealed that he did not like his long hair in the franchise during an interview.

However, this time the director asked him to grow his hair, as he believed that Yeager had been on the run for years and did not have time to cut it. And it was not a pleasing experience for The Departed actor. He shared during an interview that it was “very uncomfortable.”
He said, “At least now it’s long enough to kind of push it back, but it’s painful the hair.” While he was not a big fan of having long hair, Wahlberg shared that his wife, Rhea Durham, loved the hairstyle. “The crazy thing is my wife likes it,” he said.

He also shared several problems he faced while having long hair, from working out to driving a car with windows down and even while brushing his teeth. He even grew respect for people who are comfortable and can easily manage their long hair.
Mark Wahlberg’s Kids Had the Same Opinion As Him
While Mark Wahlberg had a hard time adjusting to his long hair, his kids were also not big fans of seeing their father in a ponytail. As he shared that his wife loves his long hair, the Ted star also shared that his kids did not like it.
“My wife put my hair in a ponytail the other day, and my son freaked out. He was trying to rip it out of my head. He was like, ‘Dad, take that thing out right now!’”

He also shared that he was hoping to grow the hair long enough so that he could tie it to avoid getting hair on his face. Despite trying his best at everything, he was still not able to get used to the long hair.
However, it was not the first time he had to grow his hair for a movie. Wahlberg also grew his hair while working on the 2006 sports drama, Invincible, in which he portrayed the former football player Vince Papale.
