Liam Neeson has had quite a career in Hollywood. From starring in notable and iconic films like Taken and Batman Begins to starring in box office failures, the actor has experienced it all. What he hadn’t experienced yet was starring in a film as wild as Marlowe.

Talking about the 2022 movie, Liam Neeson stars as Philip Marlowe, and alongside him is Danny Huston in the role of Floyd Hanson. Well, Neeson’s co-star had quite the story to tell when it came to shooting a scene in Marlowe.

With Neil Jordan helming the movie as its director, the film was considered a disappointment. Marlowe went on to earn a record low of $5.4 million at the box office with mixed reviews from the audiences.

Although the reviews were mixed, fans couldn’t help but praise the film for its intensity. With the genre being mystery/crime, things get really amped up as the story progresses. Talking about the dialogue of the movie, people cannot get over a scene where Liam Neeson and his co-star Danny Huston talk. When Liam Neeson’s character asks Huston whether it was hard for him to see a mutilated body on the road, Danny Huston narrates another more disgusting story.

“I’ve seen men in more disarray than that in which Mr. Petersen was discovered. Once, after an artillery strike, I found a friend’s tooth in my whiskey glass. I drank the whiskey. I needed the whiskey,”
These are the kind of grisly and rough dialogues that are spread throughout the movie. Marlowe received a rating of 5.3/10 on IMDB and a meager low of 26% on Rotten Tomatoes. As for Liam Neeson, the actor was once offered the role of James Bond back in the 1990s. He had to sadly refuse because of his late wife Natasha Richardson.

Before the role went on to Daniel Craig, the producer of the James Bond franchise Barbara Broccoli asked Liam Neeson multiple times to be the next James Bond. Neeson had to refuse because of his late wife Natasha Richardson who gave him an ultimatum regarding James Bond.

“‘Schindler’s List’ had come out and Barbara [Broccoli] had called me a couple of times to ask if I was interested, and I said, ‘Yes, I would be interested.’ And then my lovely wife [Natasha Richardson], God rest her soul, said to me while we were shooting Nell down in the Carolinas, ‘Liam, I want to tell you something: If you play James Bond, we’re not getting married.’”
He further continued,

“She gave me a James Bond ultimatum, and she meant it! Come on, there’s all those gorgeous girls in various countries getting into bed and getting out of bed. I’m sure a lot of her decision-making was based on that!”
