In an interview with People, Mark Wahlberg talked about how he used to study for a degree as a high-school graduate back in 2013. The actor starred alongside Denzel Washington in the movie titled Two Guns. Although the movie received average reviews, the behind-the-scene story of Wahlberg is more adorable and praiseworthy.

The Ted actor stated that he used to study between takes on the sets of Two Guns. According to the actor, fellow co-star Denzel Washington used to ask him what he was doing but Wahlberg kept the secrets to himself.
“Denzel was always asking me what I was doing but I didn’t want to share that information with him. Nobody knew, because I felt like I don’t like to count my chickens before they hatch, so I didn’t want to say that I was doing it until I actually finished it. What if I said I’m doing this and I didn’t finish it?”
The actor received motivation from his children because Wahlberg did not want his children to insult him. Talking about how the actor did not finish his diploma in the given time, he feared that his children might also ask him “You didn’t do it, so why do I need it?”.

In his interview, Mark Wahlberg revealed that he wanted to finish his diploma because he did not want his kids to think of their father in a bad way. The actor also further shared that he felt a sigh of relief as soon as he finished getting his diploma.
“I didn’t want the kids saying, ‘You didn’t do it, so why do I need it?’ They are all wanting to do things in their future that require an education. It’s also a huge sense of relief. I wondered, ‘Why didn’t I do it when I was there?’ It’s so much harder at 41 going back and trying to do all these difficult tasks.”
The actor finally received his diploma and continued to star in other blockbuster movies throughout his career.
