The actor appeared at CominCon in 2014 and took the stage by storm as he claimed, “I feel like it is probably the most iconic franchise in movie history,” emphasizing his involvement with its fourth sequel and sharing his opinions of the popularity of the mega-franchise that have gone on to grossed millions of dollars with each of its parts over the years.

In a candid interview, he shared his experience depicting his part in the iconic franchise. Wahlberg shared,
“It’s very different. But I enjoy the idea of playing the dad, and I hadn’t really envisioned myself doing that until recently, but I enjoy it. I am a dad. I’ve got four small children; my oldest is a girl. You know, the whole thing about having to deal with the boyfriend and all those things are things that I think about all the time.
The Boston native star also shared that with this project, he got an opportunity to play a challenging role and reflected on his relationship with director Michael Bay.
“Just having the chance to work with Michael on a movie like this where I know I can still have enough room and freedom to develop the character and make it my own like we did in Pain & Gain. He trusts me to do my thing. We’ve collaborated a lot together, so it’s been a great experience,” he said.
The Brokeback Mountain movie star catapulted to superstardom with his critically acclaimed performance in directing genius Martin Scorsese’s 2006 directorial The Departed.
