Actor Dwayne Johnson is a well-known name in the entertainment industry. He first became a household name in 1996 after he joined WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) under the name of The Rock.

He was a part of the entertainment program for roughly eight years. Since his exit, the actor managed to become more popular thanks to his work in the Fast and Furious and Jumanji series.

The actor once passed on a role in a famous franchise that he may be regretting now. Back in 2013, he got the opportunity to be a part of Michael Bay’s Transformers: Age of Extinction but he declined and Mark Wahlberg then got the golden opportunity.

In 2013, there were rumors that actor Dwayne Johnson got the opportunity to star in Michael Bay’s 2014 movie, Transformers: Age of Extinction, but he declined. The actor acknowledged the rumor on Twitter after a fan asked him if he is still a part of the project,
“Michael Bay offered me Transformers, but I was unavailable due to Hercules. Then Wahlberg was offered the role.”
The actor explained that he had to pass the opportunity to actor Mark Wahlberg because of his commitments to Brett Ratner’s 2014 movie Hercules.

Johnson may regret it now as Hercules managed to gross only about $244 million compared to Transformers: Age of Extinction‘s $1.104 billion.

Director Michael Bay created five Transformers movies over the course of 10 years, Transformers (2007), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011), Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014), and Transformers: The Last Knight (2017). A reboot of the franchise later kicked off after the release of director Travis Knight’s Bumblebee in 2018.

The series has collectively grossed over $4.8 billion at the global box office, making it one of the highest-grossing film franchises of all time. Every movie has consistently performed well commercially, with each installment earning millions of dollars worldwide. So, Dwayne Johnson is probably regretting this decision now.

Jonhson rose to fame in the late 1990s after he joined WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). The fans instantly became a fan of The Rock. His work ethic and big muscular frame made him a huge star. He then remained on the program for about 8 years, but right when his acting career took off, he decided to quit.

The actor’s first acting job came in 1999, as he got a role in an episode of That ’70s Show called That Wrestling Show. Roughly one year later, he played the role of an alien wrestler in an episode of Star Trek: Voyager. His career finally took off in the early 2000s after he starred in The Mummy Returns (2001), The Scorpion King (2002), The Rundown (2003), and Walking Tall (2004). However, his most famous role is considered to be Luke Hobbs in the Fast and Furious franchise. He first appeared in the franchise in Fast Five (2011).
