Charlize Theron is one of the best actors in the world, but what she is apparently not best at is meeting famous people. Even the average person might be nervous and embarrass themself when face-to-face with certain well-known and influential people.

It is but natural that Charlize Theron might feel the same even though she herself is counted amongst that category.

While on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the Mad Max: Fury Road star revealed that she was once too nervous to meet President Obama. Because of her nervousness, she said an inappropriate thing to the President that she is never going to forget.

In all honesty, anyone would be nervous to meet a person like President Obama. Being the person and the personality he is, even Charlize Theron was tongue-tied to meet the former leader of the free world.

In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, the Atomic Blonde actress revealed how nervous she was and how terrible her experience was. When Kimmel asked about what Theron and Obama talked about, she replied,

“Oh, my God! This is terrible, Jimmy! This is terrible.”

Explaining the ‘terrible’ experience, Theron added,

“I was really nervous because I was kind of hiding in the back and then somebody from his team came to get me and ushered me over to him. He waited to meet with me. Everything had stopped around his world to meet me. It was just a lot of pressure and I was really nervous.”

While President Obama was nothing but courteous to the actress, Theron was batting with her anxious nerves. And amid all the anxiousness, she blurted out an inappropriate thing that still gives her nightmares.

It certainly must be the most embarrassing moment of Charlize Theron’s life when she invited the former President of the United States to a strip club. In her defense, the talented actress blamed her nervous state and anxiety.

“I have this thing that happens when I get nervous where I get so nervous that I will say something really inappropriate. It’s like Tourette’s in a weird way. I don’t know how to stop it. It’s like verbal diarrhea.”

Backstage President Obama was all praise for the actress and for being able to come on Jimmy Kimmel Live, he even mentioned how he would be able to reach a larger and different kind of demographic by being on the show. And it was then that Theron blurted out the invite to Obama,

“There was this pause and I didn’t know what to say and all I could come up with was, ‘Well, if you’re looking for a different demographic I can take you to a strip club.’”
The actress then revealed the President’s reaction,

“He was so gracious and funny and he could tell that I was really nervous. He was nothing but lovely. Then I couldn’t sleep for four weeks because every time I closed my eyes I went, ‘Oh, my God! I said that! Oh, my God! Why did I say that?’”

Fortunately for her, the former president understood how nervous she was and took her ‘verbal diarrhea’ as a joke.
